🌟 **Become a Lunch Buddy at Monroe Elementary!** 🌟
Do you have a little time to give and a heart for supporting kids? Our Lunch Buddy Program is a fun way to make a positive difference in a student’s life! 💜💛
Lunch Buddies are paired with a student and meet twice a month for 40 minutes during lunch on a Tuesday or Thursday. Your time together might include games, conversation prompts, and simply getting to know one another.
We are currently looking for adults interested in mentoring and building positive relationships with our students. Space is limited, and participants will complete an application of interest and background check.
Please contact Bethany Littlejohn or Nicole Huffman for more information and next steps—we’d love to connect you with this meaningful opportunity!💜💛

Many students are often home alone after school, and some are even responsible for supervising younger brothers and sisters until their parents arrive home after work. A Safe Sitter class or Safe @ Home class can give your students the skills they need to be safe, and give their parents peace of mind, because these classes prepare students to be safe when home alone, responsible when watching younger siblings, and ready when they start babysitting. CCHD will be hosting these classes, see the flyers for more information!

The Lady Warriors Softball team will play South Central at 4:30 today at home for the first round of the Class 1A Softball Sectional.
The Lady Warriors Softball team will play in the Regional Championship tonight vs Altamont at 4:30 at Altamont.
The Lady Warriors Softball team will play in the Regional Semifinal at 5:30 today at Altamont vs the Winner of SEB and CHBC.
To kick off the last full week of school, Monroe 5th graders took a walking field trip to Casey Coffee Co. Students got to visit and enjoy their drinks at Lang's Landing as well as a nice shower on the walk back. 🌧️ ☔️ ☕️ 👟 A huge thank you to the staff at CCC for making this happen, this was such a special treat for our students!

On Wednesday, the Jr. High Student Council completed their community service day. The group volunteered with the Casey Food Pantry and the City of Westfield. True student leaders give back to their community. These kids put that in action.

For the last week, 5th grade Math students have been working on "The Coffee Shop Project." ☕️ 🤎
Students got to
✨ survey teachers to find out what they like in their coffee
✨ use the data to create a bar graph in Google Sheets
✨ divide fractions to create a grocery list ✨multiply and add decimals to create a budget AND
✨ write notes to teachers who have made a positive impact on their lives
Today, students wrapped it all up by delivering iced coffee (that they made themselves), notes, and a cookie bar to the teachers and staff at Monroe. 💜
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
