Today in science, the 5th graders learned about the expansion and contraction of air particles!
The tooth fairy has been very busy visiting Monroe students! Our students love losing their teeth at school- they receive a treasure chest and their name on the lost tooth board!
Mrs. Davis' class had some fun on Friday, November 1st. They made Spooky Night Tree Silhouettes with pastels and black paint. Their artwork is displayed in the hallway with their Halloween stories that they wrote.
Due to circumstances beyond their control, School Smiles is rescheduling their visit on Monday, November 4. We will notify you as soon as we get a new date scheduled. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Third grade Monroe students made Tissue Box Monsters today after reading the "Be Mindful of Monsters" book!
🎃 Ms. Spittler's 3rd grade students completed stem projects today for Halloween! They tried to build the tallest "bone towers" and "pumpkin structures" using a set number of materials. They also crafted spider webs and tested them out to see if insects would get caught in their webs!
As we are heading into the time of year where illnesses are more prevalent, unfortunately there may be times your student will be sick. We love having our students present, but there are times when students need to stay home. We'll be sharing information of when to keep your student home and when your student can return to school. Keep watching for more information!
Today's glimpse into the art room-drawing from observations. The art room was set up like college art studio. The students were to draw the still life arrangement as they could view from their seat. Drawing through observation is one of the hardest skills to master. They did a great job!
Today during Ms. Chrysler's MTSS groups, the students got to use their skills that they have been learning to use! We played Halloween phonics games! Everyone had a great time. 🎃✨

Intro to sewing was a success for the 5th grader art students in Mrs. Bishop's class. The students were 100% engaged as they learned and practiced the running stitch and whipstitch.
